The pragmatist (and diehard gamer) in me wonders what would happen if Alex could manage to fall asleep wearing – or holding – a fully stocked pack. You know, 50′ of rope, climbing harness, quality crampons, a bullseye lantern, several flasks of holy water and oil, a weeks worth of travel rations, a couple of changes of clothes, torches, fire making equipment (lighter, matches, flint & steel, tinderbox, etc.), and all the other goodies carried by an experienced adventurer.

Then there’s the question of what would happen if he fell asleep holding Fluffy …

I’d imagine that what happens in the clothes stays in the clothes. Does that clear it up any? Whatever image Alex goes to sleep with is what he takes to Dreamland.

Hey, if he brings the clothes he’s wearing with him when he goes to sleep, does that leave him wearing anything in real life when he’s crossed over into Dreamland?
