It seems to be near sunset. If the stones used in the building were polished/reflective, it makes sense that the building would come across as pink-ish at this time of day. Not saying the place is covered with mirrors, but I think its appearance somehow changes with the sky.

Not meaning to stereotype, but elves do seem to be more in tune with their… fabulous side. That and, might very well be some form of magic lets the current ruler change the color or shape of the place to suit their needs. Nastajia is fairly feminine for a warrior queen, but definitely has more of a ‘frugal’ thing going on, so a small, but cuter castle might be more suitable for her.
