Hmmm…well humans aren’t generally in the equation, so…elves, rock giants, merfolk, faeries, anthros, fauns, dragons. Though if Nicodemus is any indication, I’d bet that the dragons have something of a factionalization…the good ones (celtic/oriental) vs the evil ones (most of the european breeds).

Could dreamland be a parallel universe, accessible by humans in the REM state? The actions of the brain could indeed be affected by quantum mechanics, as was demonstrated by transcranial magnetic stimulation. So the brain could act as a highly complex cellular antenna, tuned into dreamland when the brainwaves are in a conscious state, but the brain itself is unconscious.
