That centaur guy is awesome. If he were real and a human, I'd want him to be my uncle.

I agree with Risa

I prefer the rewrite. It makes it flow more evenly now and makes more sense.

Not that my opinion matters, but having Alex relearning how throw himself at the ground and miss is perfect and apropos. Plus, 'minds me of when Dream and Delirium were looking for their brother in the Greek isles - some things you ned to do yourself.

I love your comic.. Quick thought. You should put a previous button at the top of the comic instead of the bottom.. I always am like 2 behind and end up ruining things because I have to scroll over all the new strips to get to the old ones. D:

Hey, I recently found a webcomic that's been running since June 2000 with a 5-day-a-week update rate. It's STILL going on at that pace. Thought you should give it a read, Scott. It's called "The Wandering Ones". I think you'll like it.

David C, I didn't catch that until you pointed it out, but I kind of agree with you on Orion's comment. On one hand, it seem like a very arrogant, nonchalance and apathetic statement for Orion to make. Oh the other hand, Centaurs by myth are very knowledgeable creatures and he does know ABOUT the tablet if not the exact text. he probably knows that Dreamland used to be ruled by human kings (and thus Nick is not the true King of DL). He is aware (from the sword) that there is a war coming. I believe that he knows Alex it the true King of DL and he feels a great responsibility to prepare Alex and that is forefront on his mind.

Scott, I think the idea of the statement works, but the wording could be a bit more present focused rather than ignoring the past. something like "No Alex, but we are most concerned with the future"

That 15 minutes thing I wrote bugged me, so I decided to see how many pages ago it was. It was about 100 pages ago, so that's probably long enough to forget about Hilmdel.

I don't really like that "my people do not wish to dwell on the politics of the past" line. Based on what the other tablets contained and how the other races regarded their tablets, it seems like those are very much a part of their heritage and history. I would have thought the Centaurs to recognize and value that. That politics line really seems to demean the tablets down to the level of political news articles in our day, IMHO. It sounds like the Centaurs are too good to look at them.

A couple thoughts on the last panel... I doubt that any reader would think it possible that Nicodemus is dead. As they were running away, I was thinking, "oh crap, now all the dwarves are going to die." Then somebody addressed that in a way that didn't quite make sense to me. Anyways, my point is that Nicodemus' arrival is inevitable, and most readers probably can see that, especially with the way the dialogue was before the most recent change. Besides that, for us, they left Hilmdel a few months ago. For the next readers, it was 15 minutes ago (guesstimating that).

I also liked how it used to say that Alex needed to learn to fly to get to the tablet, and to do so before Nicodemus got there (which was implied by talking about Nicodemus).

One more thing... someone mentioned Alex needing to learn to fly so that he can take Orion over there to read it. That's what I was thinking originally. I don't think a "team" is necessary - just Alex, Orion, and Nastajia. As for why can't Kiwi fly people over - first, is she actually strong enough to carry a Centaur in flight? (I don't want to re-read the whole comic right now to see if she carries anyone.) Even if she can, Orion could refuse on the grounds that this is something Alex needs to learn, and that for Kiwi to help would hinder Alex down the road.

Sure, it would be cool if Alex relearned how to fly, but practically speaking, why couldn't Kiwi fly Alex over? Once there, Alex could slide the tablet to the adjoining cliff on a rope, or just lower it to the ground. Just sayin' ....
