Scott, the “Soon” is OK, but not really needed. You show a pause, and the panel shows them seated, so they had to spend a few moments at least getting from yesterday to today. Just quiet sitting and thinking and occasional talking, like friends do.

I think the “soon” is very good. It’s like showing how they began talking, and then skipping over a bit, they’re now sitting next to each other. Adds a romantic touch.

To tell the truth, I don’t really think the ‘soon’ was needed. The first two panels are enough pause in my opinion.

This is romantic. Don’t the make a cute couple? The smart reasonable princess and the clueless almost warrior. Classic romance!

And very nicely done. I like the lighting.
