Perhaps it’s just me but the raindrop on her face in the last panel looks an awful lot like the stereotypical teardrop (you know, the one in movies where they spend extra attention to lighting so it’s track down the cheek is backlit, making it more obvious). Given the empowered speech she’s saying, it’s likely that people won’t make that assumption of it, but it did puzzle me a bit.

Hey Scott! I have been reading your comic for about 3 years now, and never felt the need to comment (im more of a lurker) Anyway, id just like to say that your comic is really cool, and you should definetely keep going. Kudos!
Until and unless she’s officially crowned Queen, Nastajia IS the Princess. As the person on the throne right now she is the ‘Acting Queen’, if you like, so might get called it. But formally and properly – no coronation means she’s the Princess.
To me, the princess is a belittling term, AND a term for those who would remember her as such. Nicodemus knew her young, as did Bognok, so it stands to reason in their minds it would remain as such. As for other times it matters not who calls her what, as long as the characters keep with the same title. So Alex would either always call her princess, or always call her queen for example.
I myself am a writer (self proclaimed of course since I’ve no published works but I have my own stories to be writing). This webcomic, out of all the ones I read, is one of my favorites. I love elves and dwarves. J.R.R. Tolkien is one of my highest revered writers ever and along with that elves and dwarves I always enjoying reading about.

I didn’t see his wing get slashed, I know his chest, face and horn got slashed then he got stabbed through the chest, but still…can’t you do anything in dreams x) lol

Yay! The first update I had to wait for! Stumbled upon DC yesterday, and read THE WHOLE THING! Had the day off, so I just did that all day. Anyway, now that I’m caught up… I…LOVE this comic. And I look forward to more.

Ahem, I do have issue with this. It has become standard in the story telling industry to have the misunderstanding you show here. Yet each and every one of you show/write what is to look like a romantic kiss. Look at your work. I bet if you took pictures of your family kissing each other not one of them would show non-romantic partners gently cupping the back of someone’s head, hand partially lost in the others hair, both heads tilted to the side just so, both eyes closed, lips pressed gently together but not puckered, bodies close maybe even brushing. This is clearly an embrace with a sexual overtone. Don’t tell me my mind is in the gutter just because I see something for what it is.
I do non-sexual kisses too. MUwaaa! is usually the sound that is made. The lips are puckered, the eyes are open, both bodies are in no danger of brushing against each other, usually bodies are slightly bent at the waist, and even if it’s a hug and kiss it happens in way too short a time for anyone to get the idea that its romantic…let alone step in and stop it.
So ‘See it wasn’t sexual guys!’ has become, in my mind, a lame thing for storytellers to say, when they’ve obviously set it up to appear that way. If it was never meant to be a sexual thing then there wouldn’t of been time for the misunderstanding….heck someone even could have taken the time to explain before hand that it was needed to get the magic tail.
Truly the most dangerous quest yet!

umm…. the latin doesn’t make sense to me, but it has been awhile. Did you just google-translate word for word? Lux=light(in subject form, so it is doing whatever is being done in the sentence). Lucis=light(genetive form, like “light’s” or “of light”). Light of lights? Discendo = I am leaving (as in, I am leaving the room…but how could you be? The light (lux) is the subject.). Partum=??? Could be an adjective, or something else. I’m lost.
Thank you for posting this information. I am glad that you and other comic artists are on the ball. I did not know about this until late last night when I saw a from a posting from George Takei. I know personally what it’s like to have stuff censored since a publisher informed me that my stories were too German to be published. What the hell does that mean?!? So if a publisher can make a racist decision like that, then imagine what a bunch of power hunger nut jobs will do. Thank you for standing up for our rights and informing us.
