I think that those are the walls with the twilight from outside lighting them up. Check back to page 1110 for a bigger picture of it.

well, with the dwarves there, I was expecting them to be underground, so I didn’t even think there might be windows… they just don’t “interact” with the occupants of the room. no purple light is reflected from any of them…
ah well, maybe I’m thinking about it too much.

It just dawned on me. This is the 1st scene IN Dreamland where the human king is not present.

I always assumed that these are “Chronicles.” experienced by Alex, recorded by Dan. I understand that this is a story and this scene is important… but how does this become part of the “Chronicles?”
