Remembering back to Nicole’s story of her time in Dreamland with Felicity and how her friendship was RIPPED apart by force. Then remember further back when the children were snatched up by the pirates. With these kind of memories of Dreamland, what child would want to return?
Old Nic is using scare tactics to keep people out of Dreamland.
No creature should feel that this is the way Dreamland is supposed to be run.

And to Julie below, yes, Dan and Nicole would be great advisors. They could be to Alex what Merlin was to Arthur.

Something tells me we're a looonng way off from Alex sitting on that throne. And something else tells me Dan will where the crown next, and in the end of all thing Alex will be sacrificed for the sake of both worlds.

Scott obviously has something clever planned to get our Hero out of this hole. Nick is the King of Dreamland. Alex needs to be recognized as the rightful King AND defeat Nick. How is Alex going to claim the throne of dreamland?
If he decides to go to war he will need a lot of money to pay his troops and buy supplies ( support services, food, tents, armor, weapons ). Even winning the war and deposing Nick won’t make him King.

If I were him I’d be hoping for a sharp elbow jab from Dan to wake me up. I think that Dan and Nicole would probably make excellent advisors (Dan for his love of Dreamland by proxy, and Nicole for her ability to be rational and unemotional).
