That storm is getting closer.
Also…I’ve fixed Nastajia’s eyes, I think.
You may also notice a newer shade of lipstick.
Hope you like.
And happy Monday!
Remember, if you die, you just respawn so you should be ok.
I can’t speak for everyone else, but I (for one) think that first panel has the makings of a beautiful wallpaper!
(Ads clicked, and votes voted!)
I SOOOO agree!
Agree and clicked aswell
Personally. It’s not what I wanted.
I think something’s off. I fussed over it for quite a while. Ugh.
But it’s nice to know it wasn’t a total loss.
i also love that 1st pic.. when you said “something’s off”, i went back and looked at it.. maybe it’s the focus? It seems you’re trying to put the focus on the castle, leaving alex and nastajia a bit blurred… but somehow the blurriness seems not enough/wrong kind.. sorry, i’m not an artist, so I can’t pin point how it could be made better ^^;
Maybe it’s that the ground under Nastajia and Alex seems a bit blurry while they are not?
I think its just a bit fuzzy in the sky
Maybe the way the cape is angled or the way it’s blowing in the wind..?
I see no ads. >_>
However, I do agree that the first panel would make awesome wallpaper.
Then again, my browser could just be blocking them. I have a plug-in that does that.
I do not see any adverts either. I do not have any ad-blockers or such, so I should. It is just the dreamland desktops donation banner and a large amount of empty space before the blue dream logo.
Please let me know what browsers you guys are using.
And if possible. turn off ad blocking when coming to the site.
The ads are allowing us to continue to work.
I’m on firefox. Turned off the ad blocking (on this site only) and I suddenly get ads though. AdBlock Plus, if it matters.
Thank you so much.
Thank you. Her irises were really weird looking in the previous few comics.
It is a nice image, but I think her cape texture is a little too shiney for fabric.
I think the new texture makes it look like silk.
I think it makes it look like an unrolled fruit roll-up! Mmmm.. fruit roll-up… Darn it, now I’m hungry.
Anyway… at least her irises look better? 😀
I would have to agree; it looks like metal or wet leather.
Ominous setting and a do or die time… wow. It’s very scary, especially considering lives or in your hands.
Nice page. I like the look of the tower in the distance.
I clicked on an ad, and I got an error page…
Ads ? What ads ? I don’t see any ads ….
… ooops, I have AdBlock activated : Sorry 😛
I keep wondering if Alex is actually in on the real plan his brother made.
I love the lighting in this page. The darkness and light in the colours really stick out. Also, this is the first time we see a thunderstorm in Dreamland – I wonder how they are produced – maybe it’s the influence of the Nightmare Realm that makes them happen…?
Oo, I know this one! Light and dark, and the contrast between them – there’s a term for that as an artistic concept: chiaroscuro.
I don’t know why, but that’s really the only artistic concept that’s ever stuck with me …
“You think it’ll work?” “It’d take a miracle.”
Have fun storming the castle!
Paddington: I’m on the Brute Squad!
Felicity: You are the Brute Squad!
I liked the eerie eyes (sometimes). 😛 But the change looks nice as well. It’s also comforting to know that I’m not crazy. My first thought upon seeing Nastajia’s face was “Her lips look different.” Apparently…every now and again…I notice details. 😀
I hope not too many of you are using ad blocking.
Does anyone know how to have our ads show up even when people have ad blocks?
The advertising keeps the site going. So I’d love to know what percentage of viewers actually block ads.
I’d hate to find out that we have a lot of potential revenue missing because of ad block software.
I do use ad-blocking, because a lot of malware can get into a computer through ads (without always even necessitating a click!). But I do try to remember to occasionally turn off the Adblock program and click the ads to help you out, and I always do so when you mention it.
As far as bypassing the ad-block programs, you want to be very careful about that. In my experience, the ads that can get through Adblock are often the ones most likely to carry dangerous payloads.
That said, TopWebComics seems to have some success with ads on their site that aren’t automatically blocked, though I’ve never taken the time to figure out how many of those ads are actually webcomic banners that link internally to the TWC site. Still, they might be able to help you out, or at least give an example to follow …
Probably the most reliable way would be to host the ads on your site; I don’t know whether advertisers would go for that, but they probably would if you pitched it right. You could also try having them hosted at a non-DNS location (i.e. an IP address, rather than a named site).
Besides that, there are not many reliable ways to get through the blocking – it’s updated frequently and quite thorough.
Scott, I guess I never realized you had ads!
I have turned off blocking on this site. I use both Adblock Plus and NoScript on Firefox. They do a great job in preventing unwanted pop-ups, but I do tend to forget to turn them off on favorite pages.
Also clicked on a couple of the ads.
Sorry about that!
Her eyes do look better with the irises a little larger. The feel is a lot less intense.
Storm closing in… Nightmare forces arriving?
Love the eyes and especially the new lipstick.
I also use Firefox with ad-block plus. However, I’ve disabled ad-blocking for this site to click on the ads. Easy to do, click on the Red ABP icon in FireFox, usually on the right-side of the screen, and select ‘Disable on thedreamlandchornicles.com’ and refresh the page.
Thanks so much JR!
love the eyes, though the lipstick seems a bit sickly to me… like she’s losing colour in her face ‘cuz she isn’t feeling well or something… but that might just be because of the dark clouds overhead? or maybe that’s just me ^^;
haha, reminds me of a melodramatic friend i had who looked pale one day.. we were worried until she came closer and we found out she was wearing white lipstick, lol XD
thank god for fixing the eyes, now they don’t look so ghostly
hey scott love the new lipstick. also i need some advice on centaurs. the way to draw them that is
I have ads on mine and the dialogue for this page plus the ad I have for the ‘Highlander’ totally made me chuckle
Alex: “Do you think this’ll work Nastajia?”
Nastajia: “It must.”
Highlander ad: “There can be only one.”
Love the first panel, and I think what might be the problem is the lighting isn’t dramatic enough, the sky should be darker, the lightning fiercer, perhaps harsher shadows on our heros… the color of potential doom basically. But I still love it.
I thought telling people to click on ads was a type of fraud? ehh.. what do I care.
Also, maybe it’s her hair not flying as far as her cape that makes it seem off.
I love your comic.
Sorry, I didn’t think about your revenue from ads… so many sites overload with ads, which makes a lot of people get adblockers and popup blockers to reduce the annoyance. I disabled for your site,(the ONLY site allowed) though to be honest, I’m probably not going click on the ads.
A curiosity…the “highlander” ad was showing before, maybe you can figure out why that one got past the ad block.
Ah..I see You fixed Nasti’s LED-eyes? Nice!
Out of principle I always click the ads of other webcomics… that’s the way I ended up here, months ago ,and learned of Sandra&Woo, Eerie cuties etc etc. going “clickety-click” from comic to comic. Would have missed that treasure-trove if I hadn’t clicked.
Thank you for fixing the eyes! =D
