Page 1357…
Happy Tuesday!
I’m feverishly trying to get extra pages done so that there’s no interruption when I go to Webcomics Con this weekend.
I borrowed the link above from one of my co-guests from Real Life Comics!
Should be a LOT of fun!
Come on by!
I’ll have books and plushes and will be doing lots of FREE SKETCHES!

So… a king can’t walk around in damaged armor… but boxer shorts are fine?
lol
I’m sure the boxers are all the rage in court these days. And there are no battle scars .. unless he made a boom boom .. which, I may have battling a red dragon to the death .. in that case .. ew.
probably washed away when he landed in the drink with the dragon. I’m also hoping theres some sort of cleaning function that occurs everytime our hero disappears and respawns in dreamland again.
Am I the only one getting a REALLY creepy vibe from Arvamas? I have a suspicion that something sinister is afoot… The guy’s like Alfred already, I bet he could kill a man with a gravy boat… If that even is Arvamas and not a Nightmare Realm Changeling-Spy…
The disappearance of the King and Queen was an inside job! And Nicodemus was just a puppet of Arvamas’!
Well there goes all the surprises that were coming up…
Good work Exxos, you nailed it! ^.^
Seriously tho, that would totally be the twist I would put into it…
yeah, i get a sinister feeling from Arvamas too.
Yeah, I still disapprove of his red eyes. (Probably meant to be brown, but they look red.)
You know… I’ve been thinking that ever since he first appeared in the comic. We’ll see how it all ends.
Yeah… Who cares about the formalities anyway? <.<
lol
There I was, walking, minding my own business, when a pack of servants charged at me and stripped me naked! And they took my sword too!
And this, boys and girls, is how epics start.
Back in book two of the Wheel of Time series, Rand al’Thor had a similar experience.
I think if that’s the attitude of the staff, Her Highness is going to get a little bit miffed at being overlooked quite soon.
Nah… she’ll be too busy “looking over” Alex.
I’m sorry… I had to.
Hmm, the armor sub plot thickens!!! *-*
I’m thinking they’ll fix it up in such a way that the claw marks are still evident somehow, but that’s just the kid in me hoping it’s so I think. Exxos theory is funny too, I don’t see the plot twisting THAT much, but damn would it be dramatic!!! O_O
Just that first line of yours made me realize that Alex has literal Plot Armor

I just found it amusing slightly that Staj took it so well that Alex is accepted as king by everyone there. I know she believes in him, but I would have thought everyone else there would have been a harder sell. Especially since her parents might be alive and her father was the king.
Her father was the King of the Elves, not King of Dreamland
I hope they give Alex something to wear other than have him walk about half naked!
Hmm! I wonder if a peasant style blouse, tights and buccaneer boot would be appropriate?
I dunno. If I were Alex, I’d be a bit disconcerted about relenquishing that armor without conclusive proof of Nic’s death. The changeling/spy scenario has merit too, if the wraiths can indeed do that.
It’s probably for the best that Felicity is still on the ship. She’d probably be offering to ‘help’ Alex.
yeah…what happens next would include something like “OW! Damn’t felicity you do have Claws remember?!”
Did I just miss it before, or has Arvamas always been kind of pale and not glowy? I mean, Nastajia’s skin always has this subtle glow to it, and I’ve been assuming all along that this was an elven trait…but Arvamas doesn’t have it…and neither do the any of the other elves. Maybe it’s just a trait of royalty?
I dunno…armor with dragon claw slashes are pretty kick-A, if you ask me!
Is he wearing the Justin Bieber boxers or just plain purple ones? Either way, I hope he stays in them for a while.
lol XD i love the way they take alex’s armor off, 2nd panel is armor is still on, 4th panel suddenly da-da! half naked alex!
Welcome to Nastajia’s world.
Too funny! They peeled him right there on the spot. Efficient, those elves.
I have to admit something. It bugs me more than a little that a female elf was given the task of actually removing Alex’s armor. Especially so since this is right in the middle of a HUGE open space. Also, did anyone else notice that Nastajia’s shoulder pads and cape were also removed? Also assisted by a female elf in the open.
This is not really risque, but I’m a card-carrying prude. If that were me, I probably would have smacked her hand and said something like, “Hey, stop! Who are you and what are you doing? Just give me a private room and a change of clothes, okay?”
Of course, the third side of the coin is this: There are dreams where your clothes just do their own thing. Maybe this is Alex’s expression of that kind of dream.
Could be.
Maybe the elves have a different sense of prudery?
Also keep in mind that it is a known thing that royalty (or the very wealthy) never dressed or undressed themselves or had much privacy for anything back in the day. Have you ever seen the movie Marie Antionette? I mean, there are aspects of that movie that were silly and slightly annoying, but it did a good job of illustrating the fact that she was always greeted every morning by a line of nobles and waiting women who (based on their rank) dressed her in specific items or bathed her for the day. Nobility never had privacy, nor could they worry about being uncomfortable being undressed in front of others.
That said, it is a little weird to me how quickly Alex is adapting to that lack of privacy or concern for privacy…though he was uncomfortable about it in a later page.
I enjoy the statue in the right upper corner of the last panel.
uhhh, this guys got “traitor” writen ALL OVER HIM!!
Arvamas: “That is no way for a king to be walking about. He shall wear the emperor’s new clothes.”
Nastajia: “But in that story, wasn’t the emperor…”
Alex: “Um…let’s just go with it for now.” *sotto voce* “I think he’s lost it.”
