Yeah, I was pretty clueless through my college years, too. Of course, I didn’t have interdimensional struggles involving my family members and their sub-consciousness.
Better off, they just complicate things and shove you around (in the case of Nicole, literally!!!)
Girlfriends that is, I have no first hand experience of interdimensional struggles involving my family members and their sub-consciousness either!
Having family members in interdimensional struggles isn’t that bad. My sister moved to Texas some years ago, which it quite a dimension alternate to reality, and things have been going fine so far.
That look in the last panel that Dan has is almost a “How would that help Dreamland?” look. I also like how he has his hand there so that even as he’s getting shoved he won’t lose his place in the book.
Oh, but it’s clear by his answer that he had no clue or intentions other than having his nose in a book all summer. Too funny. Love Nicole’s expression in the third panel. She looks so exasperated with him. Maybe even more so than with Alex, now that he’s developing a broader conscience.

Or a girlfriend, for that matter.

Well said! +1
oh noes, imgur has invaded dreamland!
With Alex as a brother, he probably learned to protect his place in books at an early age.
Boy/Girl stuff give you cooties.
I am getting it out of the way now. I called it two days ago. He is Merlin undoubtably. Now I can go on with my life content in my vindication.
Merlin had girl problems too.
Or maybe he’s just a nerd.
Give him a break, girl! You’re on public transport.

Or perhaps she looks more girlishly dismayed.
lol, enough force to knock glasses loose
I think I can relate to Nicole. I feel the same way whenever my boyfriend gets hooked on a new computer game. lol
Dan just has the long game in mind. Don’t come out of the gate sprinting or your won’t last the marathon =)
Just to state the obvious…..Nicoles going to KILL Dan
Oooh… creepy shoulder bend in the last panel.
WOW!! She is a keeper! She actually TOLD him! Most women I know would have just been mad at him and expected him to figure it out!
When a girl likes a nerd, she’s got to learn that sort of tricks for care and feeding him, or he’ll never realize what she wants and needs from him.
And, with nerds, usually subtle or expecting them to figure things out doesn’t work so well–unless you’ve shown them the way the first dozen times.
HAHAHAHA! Love it Scott! Awesome page =)
Dan looks like he’d rather read and study all summer then go on dates. Will another Carter be shoved down a rock? *evil grin*
Nah… she’ll just shove him off the metaphorical cliff time and again until he learns to fly.
