i agree, the face works well. it’s the pause that makes it weird for me. I would have expected grief to overwhelm her mid-senstence… and/or Alex to make some kind of gesture at the sign of her grief, which gives her strength to snap out of the sad face….

I think the page works just fine. Nastajia is upset about all the damage that was done but she won’t lose heart over it. She knows they can rebuild and restore everything to its former glory.

Ditto here. Vibrant determination is a good look on Nastajia. Love her eyes in that forth panel. Very exotic.

Couldn’t disagree more. I thought the third panel was perfect.

As she’s thinking of all the damage and loss they’ve experienced in her home and among her people, it would be natural to be momentarily overwhelmed by the sense of loss – and you get that in the third panel. It takes a moment for the determination and resolve to kick in and for her to “stiffen her spine” for the work that is before them.

Without that panel, the scene would have been missing the emotional kick it should have.

Just my $0.02.

sorry if i sound picky.. but the 3rd panel looks sorta funny to me… it seems she went so out of her way to make a sad face in the middle of talking, and alex just stood there and waited…
like “=D theres so much to do. blah blah blah. *pause* D= SAD FACE D= */pause* =D but arvamas was right. blah blah blah.”
maybe if Alex had put a hand on her shoulder…?? or maybe the sad face can be worked the conversation..??

I don’t know if it was intentional, but in the 3rd and 4th panels, the bow string looks like it forms a continuous strait line. I thought it was a flaw in my browser originally until I scrolled back and recognized it.
