Hope you enjoyed this week’s pages!
Have a wonderful weekend…and we’ll see you on Monday for MORE pages!
Wow… Could he seem any more doldrum about that? hehe. I wonder if he is still sad about the helmet.
The shared look in the last panel is perfect
“I can’t believe it!”
“Told you so!”
He’s going for ‘masculine’? Dude, it’s loaded with gold filigree and worn over a purple tunic. The scratches are the only masculine thing about it.
Well, in his defense, the elves picked the design and color scheme. Keeping the scratches was his only chance to make it a little less…pretty… 🙂
Hey, thanks for the laugh. 🙂
Hey!! Purple is the color of kings. KINGS!!
And there is nothing more masculine than wearing armor that makes you stand out on a battle field. It’s just screaming: “Attack me! No not him, ME!!!”
You know, now would be a good time for Alex to pitch in and be seen pitching in to help with the recovery efforts. Using that super strength to clear debris, flying in needed supplies, etc. It probably wouldn’t hurt to put some of that gold in Nic’s hoard to good use either.
Being a king doesn’t mean you have to fight dragons every day – but it does mean you have to worry about your people every day. It’s one of those ways their subjects are supposed to be able to tell the difference between kings and dragons.
*snort* Well, I was wondering when he’d complain about the armor’s somewhat less than virile look. Next he’ll add a weathered leather loincloth and fangs necklace, just watch. 😛
About Alex’s pensive look in the last page, I think that having readers who overthink every detail of your story is a sign of success as a writer, not failure! Even if some of the over-thinking is due to completely accidental details… we know you were just making sure we were paying attention.
“He totally did didn’t he?”
Wow, Scott! The render time on the armor and all of its reflections must be HUGE! I never really paid much attention to it, but reflecting all the surrounding stairs and railings and everything else is sooooo cool in the armor. It really brings it to life. The richness and level of detail in even the minutae of every scene gives your webcomic such a cinematic feel.
I always kind of hope to see Scott at his computer in the reflections. You know, the artist self portrait hidden in the picture.
Wondered before whether giving the armour a shiny look was one of those decisions Scott later regretted, just like having it rain during the long battle with the dragon.
“just smile and agree when the king speak”
Loving the last panel! XD
…….-.- Am I the only one that finds Alex talking about CLOTHES just a little disturbing!?!?!?!?
As long it remains centered on dragon claw scars I think we’re okay!
Besides, considering it’s Elven design as others mentioned the scars nullify the ‘prettiness’ of it a bit.
Arvamas’ face in the second panel is also perfect, the look of incredulity is palpable!!! O_O
Well the mark does show he was in battle, rather then standing around and looking pretty in his shiny armor.
yeah I’m just worried that the scars will make the chest plate weaker.
Hmmm… sounds like some people’s understanding of “masculinity” coincides with that of the ugly Nightmare Realm Guards that were under Nics command. Or the pirates we just met.
A real masculine man knows how to look sharp. (I’m not saying that the armor IS, though…)
And besides: a REAL man feels masculine wearing ANYTHING, even a skirt. Period.
LOL yeah a real man ain’t afraid of color either!
As Daring Donovan Deegan once said “Only real men wear pink!”
So—is the next Pro expansion team gonna pick pink and pastel green as their colors?
I think it’s kind of obvious that they’ll eventually have to go to the Nightmare Realm in order to save the kidnapped kids and eventually fight the big evil baddie ruling over ther so I wonder when we’ll see and fight them?
the scratches could also represent a sign of respect towards the fallen foe…as well as the obvious sign of victory against large odds and in a primal fashion is constant reminder of this kings right to rule but more importantly that he’s doing so with best interest to his kingdom and subjects
Shared thought in last panel: “Hmph, humans…”
