Actually, the weight is entirely a red herring. The cannonball will hit first simply because the baby’s shape and clothing will increase wind resistance and slow it down, however fractionally.

As for bouncing, it depends. The baby, being a softer material, might absorb all the momentum by spreading rather than bouncing. The cannonball, however, could still bounce provided it doesn’t deform plastically.

@bmon: In physics, the weight does not matter… all things fall down at the same time. Whether you’re 10 pounds or twenty pounds, everything falls down at the same rate at the same time. unless you spread your arms, you get air resistance, and you slow down….
