What happens to Alex’s wings when he wakes up? His armor disappears because it is specially made for a human king, but the wings… I don’t know.
If the 1st screen wasnt saying those words it would look like they were running from the guards of Seraphopolis
OK, I REALLY hate to be one of those people, but you’re going to notice it when you animate this scene for the movie, so you should probably figure something out now… They wouldn’t be able to hold hands AND fly with those wings at the same time. The way you have them all positioned (the guards, Nastajia and Alex), you are showing them flapping, not gliding. Their arms are shorter than their wings… If they were holding hands, their wings would be hitting each other.
This is right but I suppose that we can assume that when they hold their hands the wings are in “gliding mode” or maybe there is a “holding hands mode” to prevent wings from crushing.
For the record… “I” was “that guy” first.
Coming from animation… I’m telling myself… “there’s no way. Their wings would smack against each other”
But… my “artsy fartsy” comic self said… “I don’t care. It’s cute”
LOL! Well, you’re entitled to have your cute moments that wouldn’t work in reality.
You’re the writer.
Easy to fix: just have the hand hold take place before they take off.
It’s a synchronicity thing – the wings recognise that the two flyers are in close proximity to one another, so the two inner wings close up, and the two outer wings flap in time with each other to give the flyers lift. Or something
or they could be just reaching over, squeezing hands briefly before the wings get snarled. Or they could turned facing each other at 45 degree angles so the wings are out of the way..
yeah, suspension of disbelief is not an issue for me. An elf and a human flying out of a floating city on steampunk wings, I can overlook the handholding part XD
It’s a beautiful moment, a beautiful image. Let’s leave it at that.
Who will be featured in the last 11 pages? Felicity? Kiwi and Paddington? or both?

As far as the Kickstarter email I got about the print, I would be willing to pay an extra $10-$20 for a 3′ version. Not sure about everyone else.
I also thought about the wings getting in the way. Just have them gliding and focus on them and not the wings and things will be fine. I agree it is a cute moment and they have come so far from when they could not even tell each other how much they liked one another.
Things have gotten way too expository since we met Niviene. I hope we get back to stuff happening.

I don’t know why, but I found the mental image of Scott being angry at his mirror image exceedingly hilarious.
Ah, the eternal struggle to balance words and pictures, showing versus explaining. They say a picture is a worth a thousand words – but the right words can create entire worlds in the mind’s eye.

Strange, I’m sitting here reading this in the waiting room while my wife is in surgery. I have always called her “My Love” and maybe I’m just emotional right now, but this page really seems to fit my mood right now, even if I can’t be holding her hand at this moment (I guess our wings are getting in the way)

To see this picture, to see Nastajia’s optimism in the last panel is to realize how far she’s come since Alexander first returned to Dreamland. The closed, angry young princess who was on her guard against the world now has such confidence – and trust in Alexander. It’s wonderful.
..and I’d like to second that thought. I also love how her trust of Felicity has changed as well.
So, ..was that an intentional reference to Helen Reddy’s song called “You and Me Against the World” or..?
