You all need to be reminded of some facts:
1. Alex did get picked as the King and call him the king
2. The sword did in fact pick him (As far as sitting around for a few thousand years until some random kid picks you up but I guess that part is the part that really bothers me and no one else)
3. And the most imporant fact of all: THE CREATOR OF THIS STORY SAID HIMSELF THAT DAN IS THE RIGHTFUL KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at that point the discussion is about it is kinda voided don’tcha think?

Nah Dan is a blue shirted tek geek who figures things out for the gold shirted leaders (ie Alex) who don’t know anything yet still get everyone together and some how has the skills to lead.

Agreed. If kingship was all heroism and daring do, Alex might not be so willing to have his brother take the throne. I think we readers don’t want Alex being king so much as we want Alex and Nastajia to be together. If we get that, heck, I wouldn’t care if Paddington was king…

I’m fascinated that so many readers want Alex to be king when he himself doesn’t want it. He KNOWS it’s 95% administration! Kingship sucks unless you like being an organizer and love the people more than you love yourself.

I still trust the brothers and the ladies to make honorable decisions…and I expect they will be rewarded in suprisingly wonderful ways.

agreed, the sword chose ALEX, not Dan, thus ALEX is king of Dreamland, and if anyone should usurp his crown to give it to Dan, maybe there are some nightmares we can hire to take care of them, permanently.

Dan would not make a better king, he is one of the red shirt trek guys that die, when the main character lives… and allowing Alex defeat his fears, and then turning him back into a sniveling little girl, is almost unforgivable…

Repetitive questions: This conversation? Here? Are you seriously not aware of your surroundings. Why can’t Dan be Alex’s “Merlin?”
Repetitive insight: You do have to learn to think for yourself, Alex. Mistype on Alex’s name in last panel.

No matter where this story ends, Alex or Dan being King, it’s the journey that I have enjoyed. My money is on Dan.
