I know “un-kingly” isn’t a word… but it seemed a proper thing for Dan to say.
Though… if I knew of a more eloquent way of saying it… I might.
I notice Dan seems to be squinting alot. Is that because he doesn’t have his glasses?
I would assume so. My wife does that too when she’s not wearing hers.
I think he’s just looking down. I’d imagine he doesn’t need glasses in Dreamland.
It could be psychological, he’s used to it, so he thinks he needs to, and as such does.
What kind of “help” is Nicodemus asking for and what’s in it for Dan?
Nick’s looking for help to fight Abaddon and stop him from sending armies to Earth and Dreamland in the hopes of conquering both. Alex refused to help him on principle, so Nick used magic to give Dan the sword and bring him to Dreamland in the hope that Dan would be more willing to help. *sob*
Remember those shadow wraiths, couldn’t Nick use them to “secure” weapons from Earth to use in Dreamland against Abaddon? Dan would be “recruited” to instruct whoever Nick has left in their use? Imagine one of those pirates from an earlier chapter in the cockpit of a stealth fighter or F-22?
I’m pretty sure the wraiths actually “work for” Abaddon and only helped Nic out when he was working in concert with the Nightmare realm. They are Nightmare Realm creatures after all. I doubt that they’d help him fight a war againt their lord and master. 😛
No need. ^^The message does flow indeed. I wonder what these two are up to.
but … it seems you ‘ve missed to give Nicodemus’ speech bubbles the famous “nicodemus-color”, if i ‘m not completely mistaken.
If we are already correcting stuff, isn’t the correct singular form of millennia “millennium”?
I was gonna mention that. Dan coining a word like “un-kingly” is totally understandable, but I’m sure Nicodemus wouldn’t make a mistake like saying “a millennia”.
nah, “un-kingly” works well here. it drives the point home 😀
What? What? Nick speaking in a normal human voice? Take cover, the sky is falling!
(And now, when you’re safely entrenched, isn’t it the time to vote, fellow Dreamer?)
Perhaps the word you were looking for was unregal.
Unkingly is perfectly fine, but as sythiar said, it’s one millennium, two or more millennia.
Uh oh. Nicodemus is using those human speech bubbles again 😉
Dan would say “un-kingly.” I can hear that.
Are the plain speech bubbles for Nicodemus intentional, or is that an oversight? What does it mean if it’s intentional?
Thank you all for the help!
I forgot to change Nicodemus’s speech bubbles.
And Millennium instead of Millennia.
As for Dan.
He’s not squinting. He just has never had a “blink” morph target. So I try my best to paint it. Fixed it a bit more. Hope it helps.
He’s supposed to be looking down on himself.
This is proving to be a quite fascinating conversation
He’s without his glasses. How well can he see without them? Do things close up look blurry, or does he just see Nicodemus there as a big red blur?
Instead of “un-kingly”…
“Of base birth”
plebian or ignoble is the best of these. unregal or non-royal works, but un-kingly is FOR THE WIN! you aced it, scott!
Possibly “one so lacking in regality.”
Dan should ask Nick what Dreamland would’ve been like if Aurthur’s plan succeeded, who would’ve been the next few kings after him?
Actually, unkingly *is* a word: see under “related forms” at http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/kingly
And even if it weren’t… if Shakespeare can write “unking”, I see no reason why you can’t write “unkingly”.
