See you all on Monday for more!
Woohoo! Finally caught back up, after ~3 years!
Nobody panic, I’m back. 😉
Loving it as always, Scott, and loving the new art, Tracy!
Oh, also: first!
Help me, Daniel Carter, you’re my only hope. (Couldn’t think of anything fitting from Princess Bride.)
Loving that steel jaw determination from Dan.
Given the fact he’s a hologram (well, illusion :p), it’s kind of appropriate 😀
Not believing the illusion? That’s inconceivable!
About what I said about Daniel taking Nastajia from Alex, what if it turns out that Dan and Nastajia ARE compatible and he had to take her as his queen if he wishes to stay king of Dreamland, surely Nastajia would rebel against it preferring Alex and causing such a scandal that Dan abdicates the throne-thus throwing Dreamland into chaos!!!
There’s nothing to suggest marriage between the King of Dreamland and Elven Royalty is traditional, or even necessary, now. I don’t think Oberon and Titania would go for it, I know Nas and Dan wouldn’t, and Alex and Nicole would be violently opposed. Besides, Nastajia is being taken to the Chimera/Hydra, Dan is facing Abaddon and soon the Dreamer, the Nightmare Realm is sending an army towards the Earth and another after Dreamland, and there’s no certainty the good guys are going to win or even all survive. It’s not over til the Dread Pirate Roberts sings. Whatever that means.
Calm down, Captain Radar. Dan and Nicole love each other. Nastajia and Alex love each other. Period. The story is about saving Dreamland now. The lovers are all paired up by their own choice.
If that’s the case,a few issues back didn’t Nievene have a look of envy on her upon seeing Alex and Nastajia together-only to be reminded of her own lost love?
All seems right with the world again since TDC is publishing again. 🙂
Wistful for the original graphics, but loving the new illustrations.
Just a reminder, that now that we have a reason to regularly visit, don’t forget to vote in Top Comics. Our readership is much stronger than 49th! (what it is as I type this)
Did some of the panels get pulled? I could have sworn Daniel already had disbelived the illusion, done the “Kwisatz Haderach” voice blast on the nightmare beasts, and Felicity was brought out from the temple poisoned by the shadow creatures.
The story is starting over with the new art from the beginning of the chapter.
haha! Leave it to me to not read the comments already posted. 😀
This chapter was mostly previously done with the old computer models. But I think it wasn’t complete. So they are doing the chapter over again with the new art. So, yes, you have seen this before. 🙂 I think there is a link to the old art in the notes to the first page of this chapter.
Scott, you’re probably already aware of this, but your archives are becoming infested with spam comments, mostly what appears to my untrained eyes to be Chinese.
As of this moment, is the latest example. (Hopefully I didn’t screw up that html code; I’m a little rusty.)
Dang it. My OCD now demands that I do it correctly:
thanks. Been doing my best to get rid of them this last week.
Just in case my previous comment in an earlier episode got missed, did you consider using multiple computers to work on different scenes in parallel? Even using old computers using your old software, surely stacking up on many pieces of hardware would solve most of your problem, unless it wasn’t rendering time that was the issue previously? Even using multiple modern comps with virtual environments to run older systems would likely work, though I think using many older comps would be cheaper, if you could get them.
If it was scene set up and design that was taking the time I can understand that this really wouldn’t help much, but I was just considering a way that would cost ‘thousands of dollars.’
I did. I had a small render farm. It wasn’t a matter of cpu… the software I was using has been obsolete for about 5 years now.
