Maybe two panels. It took me a bit to figure out that Alex was talking before I scrolled down and read your note. Still one beautiful kiss. *Wipes eyes* Thanks for the late Christmas gift.
Split the kiss into two panels.
Also, the Nightmare Realm is not all that “back to.” It’s like 700 feet away; they’re in NR airspace. So I think that this should be referring to some sort of location within the NR since they’re already in the NR itself.

I would reverse that. Kiss first, then talk. Sticking the kiss in the middle would interrupt the flow IMO.

I see what you mean, but I think it works just fine as-is, if you think of it like a ship turning around and sailing “back into port” as it was on its way out of the harbour.
First they need to take out that crossbow
There is a bunch of fully ‘charged’ kids on board *they* can do something about that crossbow.
As expected, Bognok is “Retreat!”, Nas is “Full speed ahead, we have to save the CHILDREN!!” I wonder which one will prevail?
Is there really much doubt? This IS Nastajia Ashenheart, after all, and she’s had time between killing pirates and bombing Abaddon to think how to get those kids out of the bubbles. I suspect she’s already got a plan, and it WILL work, she won’t allow it to fail.
(I think the speech bubble pointing off panel would work best. The kiss as is , is good!) 🙂

I agree with two panels, kiss then speech. I also think it would be clearer for Nastaje to say “No!! We must go back and save the other children!”
Then tomorrow someone can ask what children, and she can explain.
Ehh, I’d get rid of Alex’s words entirely and have the second panel be the dude remarking on the fact that the Ballista is ready to fire
I’d just like to say how much I’m pleased that Alex’s first kiss with Nastajia is also the first time he’s with her with his physical-world body. It seems like the impact might not have been the same if he had first kissed her with his dream-world body.
I’m pretty sure they have kissed before.
I’m kind of fascinated at this point as Alex seems to be moving into the position of a follower rather than a leader. Nothing wrong with that! It just makes more sense for his character and gives him the freedom to be himself. He has always seemed better as a man of action, a “just tell me what to do and I’ll nail it” kind of person.
Some comics use an inward-pointing arrow on speech bubbles that are from off-panel characters. Perhaps try that?
