Obviously Maklak, if minimal armour must be worn, it makes sense to have it cover the sensitive bits if nothing else. Duh.
Not sure about the whole massive-shoulder-plates thing, other than maybe to stop the arms getting hacked off. That’d be a bit of a problem too.
