Basic fairy rule. If caught in a net, you cant escape. (Note: I do not know how true this is.)
Kiwi must have been enjoying her time with Nico too much to want to escape.
Maybe the cage is like the dungeon gates: they look big enough to squeeze between, but there must be some magic on them to keep people in. He he he. I love the look on Kiwi’s face in that first panel: [sigh].
No one likes being interrupted. Especially not faeries.
They really must be oblivious to not see the gaps in which they can escape through.

Actually, if I thought he was smarter, I’d consider the possibility Alex was counting on that reaction from Felicity.
