comics for May 18, 2007 – 05/18/2007
text of the mer-people of naroobi!
i wish i had something important to say here
but hey i?u not as smart
as you are i mean, wow.
… I’m going to assume that you just wrote this to mock the people who would actually go through the effort to figure out what the heck that is?
Is it really sad that I can read that wall without effort? I had to learn the font for a project as a kid… LOL >_< Just started reading the comic – LOVE it so far!! ^_^
Wait a second. Is that… Greek?
Well then, does it actually say what he’s telling us?
It’s Greek letters used to write English. Or, alternatively, English put into a Greek font. And yes, it does seem to say what Draginsouled says.
i don’t care if it’s greek it’s still the ancient language of Dreamland and somehow it is translated to read what is on this page and the next. i don’t know how the people of dreamland read greek but i know that this language is all still greek to me.(sorry for the bad pun.)
diagonal left of Horatio’s head…there’s a question mark…doesn’t that mean an apostrophe wasn’t recognised or something?
I studied classical Greek in college, it pretty much says what Dragonsouled says it does. It just uses English words rendered in Greek script. I also see more recognizable words farther down too. There are a few transliteration issues, such as there is no letter for “h” in greek, so this uses an eta. My guess is that the merpeople are supposed to be vaguely Greek (or roman) influenced, just like the centaurs are native american influenced.
The cave IS the tablet!
Geeks….I mean greeks went to dreem land , too heheh
*Reading further down* “For a good time, call Ariel at…”
*tears hair out*
Right you are. As much as I love the comic I’m afraid the grammar really makes me cringe sometimes…
Horatio’s about to lose his Importance To Plot Armour…
Why is everyone so utterly assured of Horatio’s death?
