Welcome. THank you for reading and thanks for the great thoughts.
I DO tackle Lucid Dreaming (which I have had many MANY times…so cool).
During one of the conversations with Nicole…we DO talk about the possibility of Lucid dreams. But they only last for a few seconds. Not the whole night.

What Alex is going through (to relate to the real world…our world) is very similar to Lucid Dreams.
Gaining his powers would be him taking control. Just like in Lucid dreams.

But what Alex is going through is pure through and through magic. This world exists. These creatures are magical. There’s SOME science to it…but it’s not a Lucid Dream. It’s not in his head.

Hope this explains a bit. And thanks again for being a part of Dreamland.

I have religiously been reading this every day since the day I discovered it on the web. I read all the archives, which took me 3 hours. Then kept checking back daily for updates.

I have thought of posting a few times, but ending up not doing so. Today, I had a thought regarding this webcomic that won’t be silenced.

I am pagan and have read and studied many books about dreams and psychic abilites. I believe I have figured out what Alex needs to learn to do and it is not something he can do within Dreamland itself.

It is an ability that can only be developed outside of the dream world. Alex needs to learn lucid dreaming. This is an ability where you stop simply being a spectator of the dream, you actively control every aspect of that dream. You can even control the outcome. If Alex can learn how to dream lucidly, not only would he able to fly again, but he would be able to develop such powers in Dreamland that would enable him to beat Nicodemus once and for all.

I believe Alex has the ability to learn this. I honestly believe Alex has psychic abilities. This assessment does seem to make sense to me in that most people with psychic abilities need an item to channel those abilities. In Alex’s case, it is the sword necklace. Without it, he cannot dream. This is also why I believe the necklace would not work for Nicole.

Speaking of Nicole, following along with the idea of lucid dreaming, I believe she will be a major player in helping Alex achieve this *if* she can get over her “faith” issues as to whether Dreamland is real or not or, for that matter, that people really *can* have psychic abilities.
