I like her “little” voice at the beginning along with her weak expression. You can’t use that too many times and I think this is the first time Scott has used that technique, to good effect.
Heh. I’m reading from the beginning with my kiddos right now. I’m amazed at all the foreshadowing and thematic tie-ins that I missed from the first time around!

Dreamland/Mundania penpals! Yay!
Your calling Earth “Mundania” somehow made me think of the whole Stark/Arcadia thing from The Longest Journey. Then I suddenly realized how similar that is… sure, Dreamland Chronicles doesn’t have the explicit magic/science divide, but clearly Dreamland is a much more magical/fantastical realm than plain old Earth, so it’s similar to Arcadia in that way.
And in both The Longest Journey and (more so) its sequel Dreamfall, dreaming is used as one way to cross over from Stark to Arcadia. Coincidence, or isScott secretly a Ragnar Tørnquist fan?
Actually Mundania is a reference to Piers Anthony’s Xanth series.

Maybe not slip back into a coma but definitely not try as hard to recover. I get the impression that the strength of the magic the centaurs are weaving depends on the motivation of the recipient.

BTW: This is the first panel where we see her eyes with reflections right? Just because (its only my opinion) i think considering she’s more or less a cat, her eyes could/should reflect ligth more, than for example Alex’s eyes do.

Felicity, despite being part cat, does not have “Cat’s eyes” insofar as having cat pupils. I expect this was a decision on Scott’s part to give her a human eye shape so she is more easily related to by the audience.
Actually, she’s more tiger than house-cat. Tigers have round pupils, just like humans.

Logan’s still home with Strep throat. So things have been going slow.
But I’m absolutely LOVING the comments pages. And love how easy it is to read everyone’s posts.

More avatars sounds great! You could also set up a free avatars page where folks can download the avatar of their choice for their gravatars. I have a page of free avatars page for my comics.

Is it possible to make a re-randomize checkbox for the avy chooser when you post? I’ve seen a few people unhappy with the avy that was chosen for them.
Of course, if they could always register a custom avy with wordpress or whatever, but still….

I really like the lighting you’ve got going on here. Although Alex looks a bit cross-eyed in panel 2.

I agree. The lighting here is amazing! I think there is less ambient lighting than normal, so shadows stand out more. There is more depth in it, somehow.

At least he updates it once a day and not once a week…….we would all totally die!
Not to mention how regular he is…the only times he missed were when his back went out, if I recall.
Why mark emphasis with boldface? I find it very distracting, especially when I try to imagine the character’s voices in my head. (I find it especially confusing as a non-native English speaker). Now that I think about it, some writers tend to put one or two words emphasized with italic per novel. Why do they do it is beyond me, since any actor with some dignity would avoid putting emphasis on those words like it’s the plague
Oh…I find it really helps people know where to put the emphasis when reading.
Say if you were saying…
“I really want you to kiss me”
It could mean so many different things depending on the emphasis.
“I REALLY you to kiss me”
I really WANT you to kiss me”
“I really want YOU to kiss me”
“I really want you to kiss ME”
It can change the whole intention of what’s being said.
Get it?

Alex (Panel 4): You mean… You don’t like to be groped when unconscious? All the cat girls in the movies I watch back home do…

I like that she’s awake too. I think there should be a more direct way for them to communicate. Maybe when they both sleep they can haver personal dreams? Also see how everything shrinks from dreamland to earth? Maybe thats why there is tales of elves and faries being little people. I think it would be hilaruous for the elf maiden to find a way earth only to find out she’s three feet tall while she’s there.
