As a kid. Yes. The first 25 pages was Alex retelling his last dream to Nicole.
Damn, I forgot that this was a dream. 🙁 So, everything up to this point was his recital of his last dream to the professor during an interview to enter a study of some kind? Not very encouraging.

Except she’s not a professor, if I recall correctly, but rather a grad student.
