The Dreamland Chronicles Page 75…
Welcome back!
Chapter 2 is done on Patreon and we are beginning Chapter 3!
This means that I will be adding a page a day of Chapter 2 here for you all!
Please don’t forget to support Tracy’s work on Patreon. The more we can get… the more pages she can produce a week!
It’s an 8 year endeavor at that pace and if you can support her in any way… please do so here…
I hope you are all safe and well during these crazy times.
And don’t forget to vote for us every day!
And yet, everyone in Dreamland seems to have aged the same as him during his absence.
I guess time in Dreamland moves at the speed of plot. 😉
The AVERAGE might be 1:1. But, well, yes … I would expect it wouldn’t …
Kiwi’s thinking face is so cute! Nice little change there, with the closeup and the different expression.
3D models don’t do faces so well … but seems that we will get less area shots …
Scott managed a pretty amazing array of expressions on his 3D models … but you’re right; as good as he did, 3D model facial expressions will never compare to those hand drawn by an artist of Tracy’s caliber.
?
Thank you all. And completely agree. Love these SO much more!
Odd, Kiwi looks younger, today… She looked slightly older, at the beginning of the chapter, which was still younger looking than the 3D version.
Interesting. I just thought of this: all (or at least most) webcomics go through artistic evolution over the years. We’ve seen a different kind of art evolution with the 3D run, whenever Scott upgraded his hardware and/or software, and whenever he paid for new sets and such. But now we’ll get to see artistic evolution for a second time, on a more dynamic scale.
I look forward to seeing the progression.
Just now it occurred to me that the artistic quality of all webcomics, or at the very least the vast majority of them, changes over the course of their publication. Throughout the course of the 3D run, as Scott improved his hardware and/or software, and whenever he paid for new sets and other such things, we witnessed a distinct kind of progression in the art.
An astute observation. Most artists who regularly practice their craft improve over time. For some, such as Pascalle Lepas (co-creator of Zap! and creator of Wilde Life), the improvement is more dramatic than for others.
Scott’s CGI creation was fairly unique, as you observed, because his improvements over time were due to a combination of skill improvement and technological advancement.
