I don’t think this was a total mood kill. However, Nastajia was hinting interest in Alex and he was oblivious to this opening, this chance to talk about himself and the world he comes from. Look at Nastajia’s expression on the last two frames. She was disappointed that he didn’t get the hint. That’s all.

That said, didn’t he get any points for confessing that he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else? I know he likes to be in Dreamland with his childhood friends, but isn’t that also a roundabout hint that he’s interested in her?
