Nahhhh…. it’s still falling… just slowly.
Obviously she doesn’t sink like a brick.
OH! A tip! IMO, she should keep her feet together and wobble them for speed, much like a dolphin’s fin. Hair and clothing ought to slow her down too much, and an elf just don’t “become her” with breast-stroke style leg kicks… its just not elfish.
So you want her to become a WoW elf?

what i say yesterday perfect vertical with hardly any splash… and she already swimming like “flipper”(60′s tv refrance).. if the anything her armor will help her sink.. um swim down faster…
just had a thougth..after my 1st post… she gets to the bottum and the merpeople are already there alex is fine nic is in chains and alex says “what kept you??” causeing her to hug him in relief or bean him on his noggen…
That first panel really could be a painting. Beautiful work man, just beautiful.
I do wonder what she find at the bottom though, what WAS Nic up to anyway!?! O_o

Good page though. Underwater scenes are tough to do convincingly I’d assume.
It’ll be a long trip to the top for air if the mermaid/merman don’t come. You think Alex can use his flying powers to propell them upward even when underwater?
Yes. The ability to ‘fly’ comes from being in dreamland in general. The ‘flying’ really is just free movement in space, with the ground and possibly sky as boundaries.
In this case the ground is really the bottom of the ocean.
Where is the sword? I mean, isn’t supposed to be with the king wherever he is to record his deeds? or is it that Alexander is no longer king??!!
PLEASE reach Alex and Nick on Monday, or have the two wake up and fight or just something besides sinking and diving.

Whatever Scott had planned for the final AND permanent demise of Nicodemus will be worth waiting until Chapter 24! That old dragon isn’t gone by a long shot! The way Scott surprises us, there will be new and strange enemies to Alexander and Nastajia. All we can do in bicker, complain and wait….
Hey, he could be dead. Who knows.
There -is- still the Nightmare realm to deal with, so maybe they’ll send some big-baddy that was pulling the strings with Nic, causing him to have thought the way he did: Humans = BAD.
Um Scott, with the way her shoulder guards are angled, when she hit the water, wouldn’t it practically rip her shoulders off? or at least stop all forward momentum?
Meh, it’s a fantasy world, to the Nightmare realm with physics. :-p
I was thinking the same thing about the shoulder guards. From that height any landing in the water will be hard, but the shape of her armor would catch the water. If you ever revisit this, it might be a good idea to have her throw them and the cape off before leaping. Once in the water the cape would be a hindrance as well.

i hope she can hold her breath for a long time and with stand all that water pressure before her head explodes.

I’m a little confused by the angle of her head in that first shot… it looks like her neck is bent waaay too far back. Love the composition of that panel though!

Those shoulders would create some serious drag in the water.
Yeah, I agree with the shoulder.. guards? creating drag… they look like they’d be those most hindersome out of everything! Assuming that drag exists in Dreamland water…
Very wonderful update, despite no words — especially the first frame! =D
Oh, and I don’t have any graphic design / drawing experience, but did you have to paint all the bubbles and splash effects by hand? Wow!
In the second panel it looks to me that she is holding on to that chunk of rubble to help pull her down…
This entire series is epic. Found it referenced in a comment on the comic Suppression, and figured I would check it out. Spent all night reading it. Can’t wait to read 17-24! Keep up the great work, you have another loyal fan!!
