We’re at Disney World! I’m sure we’re having a SPECTACULAR time!
Thanks for coming by here M-W-F this week and next while we take this MUCH needed vacation.
It’s been over 2 years since we’ve gone anywhere as a family…and I thank you ALL for helping make that possible.
Your support over the years has been tremendous.
On that note…
I’ve been asked a few times where the DONATE button went. I just couldn’t keep up with the desktops and prints. Not with all of the movie stuff going on.
I know many of you still like to throw money in to support the site every once and a while…but I feel best if I keep it away. If only for now.
BUT…

It’s HECKAEXPENSIVE here. And I promised the boys we’d go to the Lego Store before we come home. Yikes.

Soooo i gotta wonder if its all just Dan being over protective or if hes just maybe a bit jealous since hes never seen dreamland and has wanted to all this time. Hmmmmmm A good part is im sure that hes worried of what might be waiting on the other side there but seriously think another is hes just jealous they didnt suggest he do it first!

Also, though I get Dan being all ‘rational’, I wonder about is motivations for the fear I’m seeing as Syhtiar said, and not just in terms of Nicole. In all seriousness, how is he EVER going to visit Dreamland if he doesn’t take SOME kind of risk at SOME point. It’s pretty impossible to do anything truly significant without taking some level of risk, even in real daily life.
The time for playing safe is over Dan: PENDANT JUST, GOT, REAL!!!!!
They toppled Nicodemus all of a few hours ago. Dreamland is essentially going through the end of a war and transition of power. Sending Nicole there before everything is stabilized alone is a bad idea.
Oh absolutely, that’s a really good point, but what I mean is that’s his response every time the subject of him going to Dreamland is brought up. Definitely makes sense to wait until things are settled, I get what you’re saying, but Dan’s response would be the same either way, as proven by his attitude previously.
I think, at some point, he’s going to have to accept that if he ever wants to go there, he’s going to have to embrace the unknown, something he’s loathe to do. Could it be part of the reason he can’t go to Dreamland is BECAUSE of his rationality? In the same way Peter in ‘The Flight of Dragons’ had to leave the magical kingdom when he denounced magic in the name of science, logic and rationality?

Hmm..Dan is justy a bit over-protective. Nice to see Nicole getting adventurous. From a rational ,nice ‘n safe intellectual stance to “well, why not ,it’s worth a try”
By the way, I know that a lot of time has passed, but whatever happened to Nicole’s sleep study and research? Did we just leave that out to dry, or… has this become the study?
What is she going to do now for funding? For credit? For REAL! Will anyone believe a “study” on “Dreamland?”

We’re only seeing her in interactions with Dan and to a limited degree Alex. There’s still plenty of free time for her to be continuing her research off-screen. And since Alex was such a bad participant, going brain dead whenever he slept, it’s not as if she’d really be able to use him. She’s probably found other, better subjects to study.
It hasn’t been that many days in-story since she last did her sleep study on screen, either. In fact, it feels like we spent at least two months of our time on in-story’s yesterday.
I can see a “Heck Yes!” coming on.
I’m excited for Nicole, but i’m worried for Alex.
She’s going for it! Let’s hope this doesn’t go badly. And that she doesn’t turn out to be allergic to dream cat fur…
