what kind of loser asks a pirate what they are going to do?

There will be a fight over who leads, though …
“so i’ll put down my sword and you’ll put down your rock [joey], and we’ll try to kill eacjother like civolized people?”
Shouldn’t he say “now ye put yer sword down”?
